We're expecting!

After wishing and hoping and thinking and (most importantly) LOTS of praying, Jeph and I found out that we were going to be parents on the day after Christmas. At 6:00 in the morning. It was the best gift we could have received! Even though we had been anticipating this moment for a while, we were still a little bit shocked. And scared. After an initial miscarriage a few months prior, we were definitely guarding our hearts and minds as they tried to wrap themselves around our news. "Cautiously optimistic," Jeph called it. But after my first, nearly-immediate visit with my OB and a round of bloodwork to check hCG levels (numbers were excellent!), we were feeling much more secure and confident in the fact that our prayers for a family had been answered. As we move forward into the first trimester, yours prayers for our little poppy seed are so greatly appreciated!

These are only two of the tests I took, which total
four in all. I wanted to be really, really sure!

We've created this blog to keep our family and friends informed of our progress, as well as to document this journey for ourselves. Maybe our little one will even read through it one day and get a sense of just how much he or she was dreamed of, hoped for, cherished, and loved, even before conception and birth.
